Prospective Player Info
Are you interested in playing cricket at university to a high standard? Do you have the ambition and ability to study at Cambridge? If yes then this is the place for you to find out more about doing both together.
We will not cover the study part in too much detail here since there are many sites to answer all your questions and many more on this subject. What we will do here however is give you some insight into how to become a member of CUCC, the experiences of two members, and the answers to some questions you may have. Any questions that haven't been answered here can be asked in the discussion forums.

Frequently Asked Questions?
Who can play for CUCC? - Any undergraduate or graduate member of the University of Cambridge can become a playing member of CUCC. There is a minimum standard of ability which is generally decided at trial nets in October/November. As a rough guide you should have played school first XI or a good standard of club cricket.
Is CUCC the only chance to play cricket at Cambridge? - No certainly not. Each college has their own side (sometimes 2 or 3 sides) which play numerous games throughout the summer term against other colleges and external sides. There is also a inter college knockout competition called cuppers which most colleges take part in.
I have never played cricket before but am really interested in learning. Can I come along to nets? - We would recommend you contact your college cricket captain and go along to college nets to learn the basics and play a few games for them. If you find yourself doing well then you may consider trialling for CUCC.
I have missed trial nets. Can I still play for CUCC? - Yes. But you will need to prove yourself to be considered. The best forum for this is cuppers or college games where often there will be a member of CUCC playing/watching or hearing of the result. If you are doing well and keen then try contacting the Crusaders (CUCC 2nd XI) captain to ask for a trial session at one of the nets sessions. It happens every year that one or two players emerge through the season and end up playing for CUCC.
I am a Woman. Can I play for CUCC? - Yes but CUWCC is the womens cricket club which is part of CUCC and have their own website. www.srcf.ucam.org/cuwcc/
